Baubridge and Kays latest summer collection of luxury silk cushions and fabrics

brings to mind richness, opulence and decadence. Its a collection of stripes,

florals, paisleys, medallions and neats inspired by the grandeur of the manor

houses of England.

New additions to the cushions and fabrics on offer include Alderbury, Pewsey,

Tisbury, Twill and Winsley, all named after villages in the county of Wiltshire in southwest

England.

The textured range of cushions provide style and comfort, made from a pure woven

silk fully lined cover with 100 per cent duck feather filling. They are available in three

sizes: 30x45 cm - $75 each; 45x45 cm - $89; and 60x60 cm - $129 each.

The silk fabric is available for $99 per metre and is 210 cm wide, and can be used for

bedheads, wall hangings, Roman blinds and small pieces of upholstery such as foot

stools.

Lampshades in the fabrics can be made to order and start at $135 (shades only).

The Baubridge and Kay items are just some of the new goods on the shop shelves as

the seasons move to spring and summer.

homes housing a pooch, moggy or feathered friend, this vacuum with deluxe

combi and turbo nozzle makes picking up pet hairs a breeze.

7. Bambi bed lamp from Fantastic Furniture, $49.99.

8. Saddle bar stool from Fantastic Furniture, $79.99 or $149 for two.

9. Villeroy and Boch is relaunching one of its most successful patterns, first

released in 1967, with the return of Acapulco, presenting Mexican motifs featuring

exotic birds and wildflowers in a mix of colours. Designers have taken the

most exciting motifs from the original pattern, enlarged them and illustrated them

in more intensive colours across a range of cups, bowls, plates and serving

dishes. Each item is sold individually, ranging from $19.95.

10. The new Uniden Elite cordless phone combines design with the latest in

digital phone technology. The phones are wireless network friendly, have a full

colour LCD display, polyphonic ring tones, integrated digital answering machine

and digital duplex speakerphone, are multi-handset capable, have caller ID, a

digital phone book for 100 entries and are hearing-aid compatible. They sell

from $199.95.

11. Fiori ottermans from Fantasic Furniture, $49.99.

13. Users can get from A to B in 360 degree 3D with the new Trax series of portable

car navigation systems from Uniden. Key landmarks can be viewed in 3D

from any angle and in major metropolitan areas elevated maps, contours and

rises are also shown in 3D. The series is also the companys first to include

text-to-speech with spoken street names. Some models include Bluetooth

capabilities for hands-free mobile phone communicatons, correct lane selections,

speed and red-light camera warnings, a speed alert and a broadcast of

information on accidents and delays on the programmed journey. The systems

are available from $299.95.

14. Dishwashers are now in almost half of Australian households and Italian brand

Glem has the new DW410 on the market. It has eight wash programs and

four wash temperatures, an adjustable upper basket for differing dish sizes and

adjustable feet for freestanding or built-in options. It sells for $899.

15. Pioneer has brought out an eight-channel advanced home-theatre surround

system specially designed to handle the latest high-definition movie formats

including Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD audio along with 1080p/24 video. The

system consists of a subwoofer and four satellite speakers and is finished in a

glossy black. It sells for $3499.

16. As kitchens grow in size and amenities, larger ovens are coming to the fore,

and Emilia Glems new 70 cm and 90 cm ovens are in keeping with this trend.

The 90 cm oven has 10 cooking functions including rotisserie, cooling fan and

closed-door grilling with safety overload control. The 70 cm oven has a choice

of nine of the most popular cooking functions including fan forced, static grill

and fan-assisted grill. The 90 cm sells for $2499 and the 70 cm for $1999.
